The story of
Los Angeles Distillery
Los Angeles Distillery is a family-owned business that was founded in 2013 by proprietor, Dr. Lewis Harsanyi. Dr. Harsanyi has an extensive background in brewing and distilling expertise gained through his other venture, Bavarian Breweries and Distilleries. Also known as BBD, the company has been manufacturing and installing brewery and distillery equipment for its’ clientele around the world for 3 decades.
The distillery produces a range of small-batch, handcrafted spirits, from whiskeys to gins, using only the finest locally-sourced ingredients. We take pride in our attention to detail and commitment to traditional distillation methods, which gives our spirits unique flavor.
Today, Los Angeles Distillery is a thriving business, with a loyal customer base and a reputation for producing some of the best artisanal spirits in the state. The company has won numerous awards for their products, and the brand is known throughout California as a symbol of quality and craftsmanship.

Grain
We have a strict policy of using Non-GMO grain. We also source from our home state of California whenever possible. We support local farmers, so they support us.
Yeast
Our yeast is always derived from feed source that we are using in our mash. We use over 15 strains of yeast that are cultivated for their efficiency and quality.
Water
Our blending water is meticulously maintained through state-of-the-art filtration. We test for any impurities and keep the dissolved solids below 2 ppm.
Barrels
Our virgin oak barrels are custom designed using extra dense, thick staves of Hungarian white oak. However, we also use French and American white oak, in addition to a wide variety of ex-casks.
Aging
Call us old fashion, but the only way we age our products is by using the most valuable resource on Earth, TIME. Our products age the traditional way, spending years in oak barrels.
